Family Story Keeping

This is the name of a friend of mine's blog. She has some great stories and questions that get you thinking.

I will be starting my fourth new Family History and Temple Sunday School class in March. I hope we'll fill the room. I also have plans to show the DVD "A Family History Celebration" to our community at the library. I would be great to be able to fill the Family History Center.

What Have I Been Doing?

Besides wasting a lot of time - here are a few things I've been doing that I have enjoyed in the last few months.
I put the January 2011 5th Sunday together. Of course on my favorite subject Family History. I showed parts of the DVD, "A Family History Celebration", and I would recommend it for anyone to watch. The mechanics of record keeping are not to be found in it. It is full of beautiful music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra plus wonderful stories that will touch your hearts. President Erying talked which was inspiring as all his talks are for me. A special treat was the keynote speaker, author and historian David McCullough. He wrote 1776, John Adams and Truman plus other books.
The following statement is from the LDS newsroom.
“The DVD features a celebration of family history through music, stories, and the words of renowned author and historian David McCullough and President Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency. The DVD includes musical numbers by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square and video presentations showing the impact family history can have on individual lives.
Visit celebration.familysearch.org to watch video highlights or to purchase the video.”
You can also buy the DVD at the LDS online catalog for $4.50.
